Ball, Red Bull and Rauch break ground on new beverage can plant Sep 05, 2025

Red Bull, Ball Corporation, and Rauch Fruchtsäfte have officially broken ground on a new facility in Concord, North Carolina, spanning 2.3 million square feet. This site will serve as an integrated hub for production, manufacturing, and distribution—marking the second collaborative campus of its kind for the three companies across the United States. Once operational, it will cater to the packaging and delivery needs of surrounding regions and states.

According to plans, the facility is set to start operations in 2028, with full filling capacity targeted by 2031. By that year, it is expected to produce up to 3 billion cans annually. A key focus of the hub’s design is balancing efficiency with sustainability: Ball Corporation will install cutting-edge aluminum can production lines, Rauch Fruchtsäfte will oversee specialized filling facilities, and Red Bull North America will manage a fully automated warehousing and distribution center. Together, these components are engineered to maximize operational efficiency while minimizing carbon dioxide emissions.

To further reduce its environmental footprint, the site will include 170,000 pallet storage spaces and internal conveyor bridges. These bridges will streamline intralogistics by connecting every stage of the supply chain—from can manufacturing and co-packing to warehousing—before linking directly to customer delivery routes. This seamless flow is intended to cut down on carbon emissions associated with transportation and handling.

The groundbreaking ceremony drew attendance from several local and state officials, including Lee Lilley (North Carolina Secretary of Commerce), Bill Dusch (Mayor of Concord), Chris Measmer (State Senator), Brian Echevarria (State Representative), Jeff Jones (Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners), Peter Hasslacher (Trade Commissioner at Advantage Austria), and fellow Cabarrus County Commissioners Laura Lindsey and Kenneth Wortman, as well as members of the Concord City Council.
